Mead Herndon was named Teacher of the Year at Greer Elementary School. He has taughtspecial education for grades 2, 4 and 5 for the past five years. Here are some awesome things you should know.

Family: My wife, Tiffany, and three kids, Jake (10), Lucy (7), and Will (5).
Who is your role model? My mother. She was kind, generous, sincere, selfless, and understanding. I strive to be like her every day.
What is your greatest teaching memory? Any day where a student starts to believe in themselves or has a victory, big or small. I enjoy building students' confidence and showing them that they are loved and supported.
What is your favorite quote or personal motto? “The best thing about the future is it comes one day at a time.” — Abraham Lincoln.
What is a fact about you that most people don't know? I'm a big fan of Georgia Southern athletics. My family tries to make it up to Statesboro as much as we can for any sporting event. Go Eagles!
