Principal’s Message
Principal Robin Hunter is committed to creating a school where high expectations, strong relationships, innovative teaching, and a belief in every child come together to inspire excellence.
Welcome to C.B. Greer Elementary School—Home of the Sharks and a 2026 National Blue Ribbon School!
It is truly an honor to serve as principal of C.B. Greer Elementary. At Greer, we believe every child deserves to be known, challenged, supported, and given every opportunity to succeed. Our work is grounded in high expectations, meaningful relationships, and an unwavering commitment to helping every student learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
Greer has established a tradition of excellence, and we are incredibly proud of what our students and staff continue to accomplish. In 2026, C.B. Greer Elementary was named a National Blue Ribbon School, one of the highest honors a school can receive. We have also been recognized as a Georgia Title I Distinguished School for four consecutive years, placing Greer among the highest-performing Title I schools in the state. Additional honors include the GOSA Silver Award for Greatest Gains and the Georgia Department of Education Math Leader Award.
While these recognitions are exciting, what matters most is the work behind them. Our success is the result of talented teachers, hardworking students, supportive families, and a school community that believes all children can achieve at high levels. We continually examine student learning, refine instruction, provide targeted support and enrichment, and challenge our students to think deeply, solve problems, collaborate, and take ownership of their learning.
But Greer is about much more than test scores.
We are committed to educating the whole child. Through academics, the arts, physical education, technology, leadership opportunities, clubs, character development, and schoolwide traditions, our students have opportunities to discover their strengths and develop confidence in who they are becoming. We want children to leave Greer not only academically prepared for what comes next, but also kind, curious, resilient, responsible, and ready to lead.
Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year is Beyond the Blue, reflecting our commitment to continue reaching beyond what we have already accomplished. A National Blue Ribbon is an extraordinary honor, but it is not our finish line. We will continue looking beyond the blue—toward new possibilities, higher levels of learning, stronger partnerships, and even greater opportunities for our students.
What makes Greer truly special, however, cannot be captured by an award or a set of numbers. It is our people. It is the teacher who refuses to give up on a struggling learner, the staff member who makes sure a child feels seen, the family who partners with us, and the students who walk through our doors each morning ready to learn. Relationships are at the heart of everything we do, and we work hard to create a school where children and families know they belong.
Whether you are a current Greer family, considering Greer for your child, or visiting our website to learn more about our school, I invite you to become part of our community. Come visit us, volunteer, attend an event, and experience what makes Greer such a special place.
We are proud of where we've been, excited about where we're going, and committed to continuing Beyond the Blue as we build a future where every Shark is prepared to learn, lead, and shine.
Warmly,
Robin L. Hunter, Ed.S.
