Following an executive session at the December 17, 2024 Work Session/Board Meeting, the Glynn County Board of Education named Mike Blackerby, currently serving as the Deputy Superintendent of Operations, as the sole finalist for the position of Superintendent of the Glynn County School System. Dr. Scott Spence will continue to serve as Superintendent through his previously announced retirement date of June 30, 2025, to help with the transition.
The Glynn County Board of Education will hold an event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7 at the Glynn County Schools Athletic Complex, 291 Community Action Drive in Brunswick, to provide the public with an opportunity to meet Mr. Blackerby. Light refreshments will be provided.
