"Respect is one of the greatest expressions of love."
In our classroom, we will treat each other with respect and kindness. My goal for your child is to not only teach them academically but to also develop their emotions and character. I want each of them to become their "best self". We will learn to be respectful to our friends, supplies, teachers, and most importantly ourselves. Our class rule is "Respect".

Individual Rewards
Every day, students will have the opportunity to collect "Respect Rewards".This means they are continuously displaying respect towards their peers, supplies, teachers, and themselves throughout the day. By doing this, their names will be written under "Respect Rewards". If their respectful behavior continues, they will receive tally marks to signify their positive behavior. The students with "Respect Rewards" will get a square(s) signed in their agenda according to how many tallies they receive. Once they have a row signed, they can pick from the treasure chest!
Class Rewards
As a whole class, students will be collecting pom poms to fill up our "Pom Pom Jar". Once the Pom Pom Jar is full, students will vote on a whole class reward. These rewards could be slipper/sock day, sweet treat, dance party, etc. They can also earn pom poms by getting compliments from other teachers when all students are being respectful and working hard, and if all students turn in their Friday reading logs.

Individual Reminders
Before a student's name is written down on "Reminders", they will receive a warning. This will give them the opportunity to reflect if they are being respectful. If the behavior continues, the child's name will be written down under "Reminders". If this visual cue changes their behavior and they show consistent respectful choices, their name will be erased. If their behavior is consistently disrespectful, I will conference with the student to discuss how to make respectful choices. A tally will be written by their name to show they will receive a conference. Additional tallies will be given along with parent conferences to discuss behavior and appropriate consequence for students.

Class Reminders
Pom poms will be removed if the whole class is not following respect rules, and receives a negative report from specials, lunch, or other areas in the school. Rarely do pom poms get removed!
